2018 REGIONAL CHILDREN’S MONTH CELEBRATION PUSHES FOR POSITIVE PARENTING admin, November 23, 2018February 15, 2024 The Provincial Government of Cavite, in collaboration with the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), actively participated in the 2nd Regional Children’s Month Celebration hosted by the province of Laguna on November 16, 2018, held at the Cultural Center of Laguna. The theme for the event was “Isulong: Tamang Pag-aaruga Para sa Lahat ng Bata” (Promote Proper Care for All Children). This celebration was a part of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness (JJWC) Week Celebration with the theme “Lipunan, Bata at Magulang, Sabay Sabay Para sa Kaunlaran” (Society, Child, and Parent, Together for Progress). During the event, Atty. Dulce H. Rabanal, Laguna’s Provincial Administrator, extended her warm welcome and gratitude to all attendees on behalf of Governor Ramil L. Hernandez. Mr. Jacob B. Taguinod, Regional Director of the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), explained the significance behind the Children’s Month theme, while Ms. Joanne G. Caño, Social Welfare Officer III of RJJWC IV-A, discussed the RJJWC Awareness Week. Ms. Lorenza M. Francisco, Federation Manager of Reina Federation of Parents Association, Inc., provided an overview of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), Positive Parenting, and Positive Discipline. The children who participated in the event from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon gained valuable insights into various considerations and initiatives for children. They were also delighted by intermission performances by children from SOS Children’s Village and the captivating displays of the Theater and Circus Group in Laguna. The attendees had the opportunity to visit different booths where they received various goodies and had their faces painted. The gathering culminated in the awarding of winners in the Painting Contest for the 2018 JJWC Week Regional Celebration, the recitation of Panatang Makabata (Pledge of the Youth), and a closing message delivered by Assistant Regional Director for Operations DSWD IV-A, Lucia Almeda. The assembly was skillfully hosted by Mr. Dan Moises Dave Cuesta and Ms. Smile Charise Murillo. Among the supporters present during the event were DSWD IV-A’s Ms. Rosalinda Perez, Executive Director of Open Heart Foundation, Mr. Jhonald Lasin, Executive Director of SOS Children’s Village, and PCI Averil Pimo-on of PNP IV-A.
