SAFE Safe, Secure and Alert Families in Emergencies (SAFE) Project DOMAIN: Safe and Caring Environments for Infants and Young Children.PATHWAY: Community-based child protection mechanisms. As part of achieving a safe and progressive community, SAFE Project using the FDRM Result Framework is implemented by the Federation which aims Children aged 0-5 to have decreased exposure to risks and are protected from various impact of any hazard events. In line with this, a total of 4,881 families or 870% based on the year II target families are oriented on Family Disaster Risk Reduction Management IEC materials. And out of 4,881 families oriented, a total of 1,082 families or 193% of year II target have completed their IEC materials and E-Balde/ Emergency Balde. Through this, children became less vulnerable and Parents has become knowledgeable on disaster risk reduction management. Further, to ensure Sustainability of the DRR intervention in the community, partnership with Barangays was necessary. For that reason Community Based Child Protection Mechanisms (CBCPM) were established. For this fiscal year, three (3) out of three (3) CBCPMs are established in Brgy. Agos-Agos, Banugao, and Pilaway. In addition to that, the MOA and Executive Order on Listong Pamilyang Infantahin is already signed. This Executive Order serves as the first step of the Federation towards its goal in pursuing sustainability of DRR in Municipality of Infanta in order to create a community or institution wherein parents and caregivers are able to provide safe and healthy environment for children. Lastly, a total of 108 or 72% families are oriented/trained on diversifying livelihood in order to achieve the one component of DRR which is ensuring the nutritional and educational needs of children aged 0-5 are met, contributing to proper childhood development.
