Reina Federation Conducts IEC Development and Advocacy Workshop on Breastfeeding admin, March 27, 2024April 30, 2024 Reina Federation, in collaboration with ChildFund Philippines, Inc., recently organized an IEC Development and Advocacy Workshop on the importance of breastfeeding. The two-day event, held on March 21 and 22, 2024, aimed to educate and empower Municipal Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) from Real, Infanta, and Gen. Nakar in Quezon. The workshop focused on developing effective information, education, and communication (IEC) materials and advocacy strategies to promote breastfeeding practices within their communities. Participants gained valuable insights into the numerous benefits of breastfeeding for both mothers and infants, as well as the role of proper nutrition in ensuring overall health and well-being. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, the BNS learned how to create compelling and culturally relevant IEC materials tailored to their target audiences. They explored various communication channels and techniques to raise awareness and encourage the adoption of breastfeeding as a crucial aspect of maternal and child health. Furthermore, the workshop emphasized the importance of advocacy in creating an enabling environment that supports and encourages breastfeeding practices. Participants were equipped with advocacy skills and strategies to engage with local authorities, healthcare providers, and community leaders, fostering a collaborative approach to promoting breastfeeding initiatives. By empowering the BNS with knowledge, resources, and advocacy tools, Reina Federation aims to strengthen grassroots efforts in promoting breastfeeding and improving maternal and child health outcomes in the municipalities of Real, Infanta, and Gen. Nakar. This workshop aligns with Reina Federation’s commitment to supporting community-driven initiatives and addressing critical health and nutrition issues, particularly those affecting vulnerable populations.
